How to group RAW and JPG files as a single image

When you shoot photos using the RAW + JPG mode offered by some digital cameras, the same photo is saved twice—once as a RAW file and once as a JPG file. RAW files offer higher quality but are significantly larger in size, which can slow down processing. By viewing the faster-to-load JPG files, you can save time when selecting the desired photos.

Since the RAW + JPG mode typically stores both file types in the same folder, using a standard image viewer to browse through that folder will result in seeing two versions of the same photo repeatedly, just with different formats. This can actually make it take longer to find the photos you want. To enable more efficient file browsing, BandiView provides a grouping function that allows you to view RAW and JPG files together as a single image.

Using the Group function

You can enable the group function by selecting "Group" from the toolbar at the top of the BandiView window, or by pressing the shortcut key Alt+G.

  • BandiView also provides the same grouping for PSD and CLIP files.
  • Simplify file management with the options deleting and renaming both files simultaneously.
